Matte Finish Is In

Cultured marble in the traditional gloss finish is still the solid surface of choice for most bathrooms.  However, if you are looking for a softer more “natural stone” look, you can opt for a “matte” finish.  A matte finish softens the look and adds a bit of sophistication without moving to a more expensive solid surface material.  You’ll find this attractive on a vanity top with a custom edge treatment as shown in this picture.

Another tip---the matte finish looks best on granite, onyx and light colors of cultured marble.
